It's all part of the beautiful story...

So if you are friends with me on Facebook, you already know. OUR HOUSE SOLD! It sold in LESS then 24 hours. Can you believe it!?! We don't even have a for sale sign in our yard! This affirms our calling to the Philippines even more. There are houses for sale in our neighborhood that have been on the market for months. Some houses in Sturgeon Bay have been on the market for years! Ours sold in 1 day. Only God could do this! We even prayed for some specifics before we listed the house. We prayed for a full price offer and we prayed that we could close at the end of August. Guess what! Those prayers were answered. Matthew 7:7  says "Ask, and it will be given to you, seek, and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you." We received a full price offer AND we close at the end of August! As our realtor Scott says, "to God be the glory"!!

As you may recall, we had 2 things we needed to do before setting a date on when we go to the Philippines. 1. The house selling 2.Raising support. The first one is done so now on to the support raising. Our support letters went out this week!!  You may be on our "list" and received that already! If we missed you on our list and you would like to help us with our FUNdraising you can donate at https://www.cscshelter.org/give be sure to put "Jake and Pam" in the comments/designation box. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Know that all donations are tax deductible as well :) I cannot wait to see how God works through the fundraising as well!!

Now all we can do is sit back and watch as God continues to write this beautiful story using the Schulz family in the Philippines and using YOU to get us there with your support. We are so humbled. God Bless! *Pam

This picture was taken a few weeks after we moved into this house in 2010. If I remember, it will be re-enacted before we move out :)

Overwhelmed

This week has been an overwhelming week... We are overwhelmed by the kind words and support that we have received from our friends and family both near and far. We are overwhelmed by the emotions that go with putting our house on the market. We are overwhelmed by the tedious tasks that have to be done before the house gets on the market. We are overwhelmed by the people who have said they want to support us financially. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our church. We are overwhelmed by the people who have asked us how they can pray for us specifically. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of friends asking what they can do to help us get ready to go. We are overwhelmed by the people who want to be sure to see us before we go. We are overwhelmed about choosing what curriculum to use for school next year. We are overwhelmed by the support from Sturgeon Bay School District offering to help us with school curriculum for the next two years. We are overwhelmed by the appointments that have to be made for check ups and passports and other things that we need to do before we leave. We are overwhelmed by the concern that some have for our beloved dog, Bentley (who, by they way, is going to be staying with a dear friend of ours who LOVES Bentley and Bentley LOVES her too!).

And we are overwhelmed by the goodness of God and that he is trusting us to continue on this path toward a mission to help orphaned children in the Philippines. We are so humbled that God has called our family to this, even if it can feel overwhelming at times. When I find myself getting too overwhelmed with my to-do list, I sit down and start praying. I pray for our friends and family that we are leaving behind. I pray for our church and our community here in Sturgeon Bay. I pray for CSC and the children that we already love. I pray for our kiddos and the transition from here to there. Then, I go and look at the pictures that we took of the beautiful children of the Philippines and remember why we are doing what we are doing. We are serving our Lord Jesus who loves us and all of the little children of the world, even more then we can imagine... *Pam

YOU MIGHT WANT TO SIT DOWN FOR THIS...

The Schulz’ are moving to the Philippines!!! Wait, WHAT!?! I know, I KNOW!! We cannot believe it either. It all started a little over 4 years ago when God planted a seed in our hearts, just a little, about an orphanage (Children's Shelter of Cebu) in Cebu City, Philippines. That seed has grown much larger in the past few years (especially since January) and we are listening to God’s call on our lives to go over to the Philippines for a Short Term (but actually a pretty long term) mission. We will be leaving towards the end of August or early September (it really depends on our house selling and our support raising efforts on when we will leave for sure).  The initial commitment is 2 years but who knows how God will lead beyond that ;) We are all very excited as we take this faith step. The kiddos CANNOT wait to catch lizards, play soccer everyday, and make new friends! :) They have been so supportive and excited through this whole process and we are incredibly grateful for that. Jake is excited to share his expertise in operational management and work with the staff at the Children's Shelter of Cebu, also know as CSC. The kiddos and I will be able to serve in various ways as well and are super excited about the opportunity to serve God and the children, in the Philippines.

We would LOVE it if you would support us in prayer for the shelter and for the Schulz' as we make this crazy life transition!

We would also LOVE it if you would consider supporting us financially as well. The number we need to raise to be over there for 2 years is BIG, but guess what! Our GOD is bigger! We have full confidence that he will see to it that our needs are met through you, our generous friends and family. Philippians 4:19 says "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"! We truly believe that! If you feel led to support us financially you can do so here (be sure to put 'Jake Support' in the comment section). Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Feel free to subscribe to our blog so you can follow us on our adventure. We will do our best to keep you updated with current information on when we leave and how our support is going and then how we are doing once we get there as well! We love you all!
