God is in control

Here is a post that I made on Facebook today. I realize not all of you are on Facebook, therefore, not receiving all of our updates. I apologize for that and will try to do better about posting here too. Thank you for your continued love and prayers for our family in trying to bring our son, Daniel, home....

It has been exactly 5 months since we found out that we were matched with a precious little boy in the Philippines. When we said, yes, we’ll take him, they told us it would be around 4 months before we could travel to get him but maybe up to 6 months. Who could have thought that life would take us to where we are today. Countries, states, cities, communities, and schools are on mandatory lockdown because of a virus going around. None of us could have predicted this here on earth, but one thing we know for certain is that God is in control and He is not surprised by all of this. He knew this was going to happen and He has His reasons for allowing it. People have been asking us how we are doing with the extra waiting. The airports in the Philippines and the Ph government is shut down until at least April 14th. We know that we will not be able to travel until at least then, probably longer. How are we feeling? Well, I (Pam) know for one thing that if I didn't trust Jesus as my Lord and Savior I would likely have some sort of a mental breakdown. This waiting for our son is agonizing. Sweet Mady in her prayer for Daniel last night was pleading with God to let us come get him “because it is hard on all of us”. Try listening to that... We are clinging to the promises of God. Read Psalm 46. We know that God’s plan is perfect and we trust that. We know that he will never leave us or forsake us and we trust that. We know that all who are weary and heavy laden can come to Him and He will give us rest and we trust that. We know that we can trust in Him and He will direct our paths and we trust that. We know that all things work together for good for those who love Him according to His purpose and we trust that. We know that He knows the plans He has for us AND for Daniel, plans to prosper and not harm plans for hope and a future and we trust that. Take a listen to this song. It is one of my favorites and I listen to it a lot. “Far be it from me to not believe even when my eyes can’t see. And this mountain that is in front of me will be thrown into the midst of the sea. And through it all, my eyes are on You through it all IT IS WELL. So let go my soul and TRUST in HIM the waves and wind still know His name. It is well with my soul… And through it all, through it ALL, it is well…. with me.” THAT is how we are feeling. Even with waves of emotion, we trust God.
