This is amazing grace...

Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You lay down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You've done for me

Who brings our chaos back into order
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter
The King of Glory, the King of Glory

Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You lay down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You've done for me

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy, worthy, worthy

This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You lay down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You've done for me
All that You've done for me

These are the lyrics to the song titled "This is Amazing Grace" by Phil Wickham. We sang this song with the junior highers at bible study this week. We are grateful for the opportunity to lead a small group in our home for the kiddos from the shelter aged 11 and up. Last week was our first week together with this group at our house. I cannot even begin to explain the emotion that I felt when praising our Lord and Savior with these kids this week. They were singing their hearts out. It didn't always sound pretty but it was so beautiful to me and I am sure in God's eyes as well (make a joyful noise, right!). As we were singing I couldn't help but think about the situation that these kids find themselves in. All were abandoned, abused, and/or surrendered by their biological families. All are in hopes that a family, who wants them, will find a way to adopt them. I know this because I hear their prayers. Yet, here they are singing praises to our Father in heaven, who loves them more then we can imagine, at the top of their lungs. They are all such a blessing. Each and everyone of them unique in their own ways. Jesus came to earth to save these children just as much as he came to save me and you. That. That is amazing grace. We were all orphans needing a Father. Please continue to pray with us for these children that they will know that their is indeed a Father in heaven who loves them so much and also pray that families, across the U.S and around the world, will step up and care for "the least of these".

James 1:27

This is Amazing Grace (first time we sang it)

A beautiful time together!
