Overwhelmed

This week has been an overwhelming week... We are overwhelmed by the kind words and support that we have received from our friends and family both near and far. We are overwhelmed by the emotions that go with putting our house on the market. We are overwhelmed by the tedious tasks that have to be done before the house gets on the market. We are overwhelmed by the people who have said they want to support us financially. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our church. We are overwhelmed by the people who have asked us how they can pray for us specifically. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of friends asking what they can do to help us get ready to go. We are overwhelmed by the people who want to be sure to see us before we go. We are overwhelmed about choosing what curriculum to use for school next year. We are overwhelmed by the support from Sturgeon Bay School District offering to help us with school curriculum for the next two years. We are overwhelmed by the appointments that have to be made for check ups and passports and other things that we need to do before we leave. We are overwhelmed by the concern that some have for our beloved dog, Bentley (who, by they way, is going to be staying with a dear friend of ours who LOVES Bentley and Bentley LOVES her too!).

And we are overwhelmed by the goodness of God and that he is trusting us to continue on this path toward a mission to help orphaned children in the Philippines. We are so humbled that God has called our family to this, even if it can feel overwhelming at times. When I find myself getting too overwhelmed with my to-do list, I sit down and start praying. I pray for our friends and family that we are leaving behind. I pray for our church and our community here in Sturgeon Bay. I pray for CSC and the children that we already love. I pray for our kiddos and the transition from here to there. Then, I go and look at the pictures that we took of the beautiful children of the Philippines and remember why we are doing what we are doing. We are serving our Lord Jesus who loves us and all of the little children of the world, even more then we can imagine... *Pam
